Season 5 Episode 19 | Perfectionism, Control, and Making Important Mistakes
In Episode 19: Perfectionism, Control, and Making Important Mistakes
Like everyone under the sun, I make mistakes sometimes — and most of the time, they really don't bother me. Typo in an email? I get a fact wrong in a podcast? Come off a little blunt during a conversation? Not a big deal. Correct and move on.
But there are some areas where even the thought of making a mistake is paralyzing. When it comes to leadership, ethics, allyship, and integrity, I hold myself to an extremely high standard that leaves ZERO room for error.
And recently — you guessed it — I made exactly the kind of mistake I spend a lot of energy trying to avoid.
Ouch. But you know what? Good. Because those big, unfortunate mistakes have helped me uncover a whole new layer of understanding about where I am on my leadership journey.
Where are you on your leadership journey? What truths have you uncovered, what hurdles have you cleared? If you want to connect with your fellow leaders around topics like these, then you definitely need to join my trauma-sensitive leadership group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/764082764458292/
