Season 5 Episode 18 | Taking Risks and Dancing on Chairs with Dusti Arab
In Episode 18: Taking Risks and Dancing on Chairs with Dusti Arab
My guest this week was Dusti Arab, a brand strategist who specializes in elevating the personality-driven brands of women on the rise who want to make a difference. Dusti got her start writing on the internet at a very young age, and has had an online business for over a decade — which means she's definitely got some stories to share.
This was a lovely, free-flowing conversation that touched on so many different topics near & dear to my heart:
growing up on the internet and doing everything wrong
developing stability and capacity (sometimes the hard way)
outsourcing the stuff you hate doing
the relationship between risk-taking and trauma
staying authentic during a mental health crisis
her upcoming book, Braver than Before
...and yes, a WHOLE lot more, especially about neurodiversity.
"I was definitely trying to find my voice and figure out who I was, learning how to navigate that space and figure out what was mine and what wasn't. I did everything wrong — and that was probably the best possible way for me to learn how I did actually want to show up on the internet as that conversation started to evolve."
